Eight Tips to Mega Million Wins

  1. Odds and Evens: It’s exceedingly rare for winning ticket combinations to consist entirely of odd numbers or entirely of even numbers. Ideally your picks should feature a 2/3 combination between even and odd, or odd and even numbers.

The McIntyre family from Co Mayo in Ireland, win €11m Lotto jackpot

The McIntyre family who live in Ballyglass, Belmullet, Co Mayo, scooped €11 million in the weekend National Lottery draw, one of the largest jackpot’s to date and are now trying to get used to being millionaires.

The winning ticket, a €4 quickpick, was purchased by a family member in Brogan’s Eurospar, Belmullet, on Friday.

Shop-owner Annette Howard first heard that she had sold the winning ticket at 10pm on Saturday when she got a call from the local lottery sales representative. At that time Ms Howard had “no idea” who the winning ticket belonged to as no one had come into the shop saying, “I won!”

The last big lottery winner was postman Pat Broderick from Kinsale, Co Cork who won €7 million – half the €14 million jackpot – in March this year. The other winner wished to remain anonymous.

The winners can pick up their winnings from the National Lottery HQ in Dublin.
