EuroMillions Lottery Winners Make The Rich List

Dave and Angela Dawes, from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, became the UK’s third-biggest lottery winners ever when they hit the sweet spot in last Friday’s EuroMillions lottery and walked away outright winners of a cool £101 million ($157 million) jackpot.

 

Mr Dawes, 47, a shift supervisor for Premier Foods, and Ms Dawes, 43, a volunteer with the British Heart Foundation, had to wait until Monday for their ticket to be verified and now shoot straight up The Sunday Times Rich List 2011, beating David Bowie (£100m), Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne (£95m), and George Michael (£90m).

 

Top of the Dawes’ priority shopping list is a new multi-carat engagement ring for Angela followed by a lavish wedding in Portugal. In addition the couple have drawn up a list of 20 family and friends who have helped them throughout their lives and will make them millionaires; they also intend to give some of their cash to children’s charities.
