A lucky gambler from Albuquerque who bought a Powerball lottery ticket won a huge jackpot, $62.8 million dollars. Felipe Piña bought his lottery ticket on May 23 of this year (2007) at the Giant Sundial retailer. His lottery ticket was a Quick Pick. The Quick Pick method is when the computer chooses your numbers randomly. The odds of winning the jackpot where 1 in 146 million.

Mr. Piña waited a week to claim his prize following the advice of the New Mexico Lottery. The New Mexico Lottery strongly recommends the winners to search for a legal and financial counselor before claim the prize.

Piña was the owner of a mechanical workshop in Chama, since the online lottery Powerball could be played in New Mexico every week he buys lottery tickets. “I always knew I was going to win” he said.

Going Back In Time

Let’s go back in time and remember that moment that took place in New Mexico – Albuquerque  on August 10, 2005. A master sergeant assigned to the 58th Training Squadron at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque has claimed a $93.4 million Powerball jackpot, he bought a lottery ticket with the right number combination.
