A rare Victorian conservatory is to be saved thanks to a £2.4 million grant from the UK national lottery. The historic conservatory at Wentworth Castle, near Sheffield, is one of the few buildings of its type to survive intact. Despite many years of decline and dereliction, much of the original building remains and it will now be restored to its former glory thanks to the lottery. The project will mark the completion of restoration of the famous Wentworth Castle estate, which is a major landmark on the A1 motorway. In total, the national lottery has provided almost £12 million to the project. UK Lottery Funds Pitches Up for Forest Artwork
