The couple will fly to Wellington to receive the big jackpot next week. A spokeswoman from the Lottery commission said that the couple is planning to donate privately and anonymously to friends and charities. She says that like all New Zealanders, the couple have been deeply affected by the tragedy in Samoa and want to help.
The spokeswoman, Ms Jones, also commented that the couple bought the lucky lottery ticket at Manukau Pak’NSave when they were on their way to buy pillows.
