Powerball is referred to an interstate lottery of America that is a combination of lotteries from thirty two American jurisdictions. The Multi State Lottery Association or MUSL is a non-profit organization that organizes as well as co-ordinates the Powerball lottery games. The states as well as territories that participate in this lottery game are as follows: Colorado, Arizona, Delaware, Connecticut, Florida, the District of Columbia, Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Maine, Montana, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Oregon, South Carolina, Rhode Island, Tennessee, South Dakota, Vermont, US Virgin Islands, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

In 1988, this lottery game came into view and was commonly referred to as Lotto America. However, in 1992 April, the name as well as the game were officially altered into Powerball. This game ranks first when it comes to arranging a two-drum system. This implies that two pairs of balls and two drums are used in case of a draw and the players are expected to collect numbers from two different boards of numbers. Using the two pairs of balls as well as the two drums allows for different phases of prize winners, based on the amount of apt numbers chosen by the player. A player needs to choose all the numbers appropriately when it comes to winning the jackpot. The point that there are innumerable phases of cash prizes creates the odds of winning a Powerball lottery game in the ratio of 1:35.

In addition there were more than 50 winners in April taking home at least $10,000 each, including Alex A Defiore, who nailed a very useful $6.4 million.

Berryville resident has TWO $1 million Powerball tickets!

Saturday, April 21st, 2012

Picture the scene; you pop into your local store to pick up a newspaper, which you’re intending to give to a poorly relative who’s in hospital – you ask the store assistant to check whether the two Powerball lottery tickets which you recently purchased had won anything and were then told, by that same assistant, that your two slips of paper are actually worth more than the $600 maximum the store are permitted to pay. So you double check with the Lottery offices who confirm that your two tickets are in reality, worth a MILLION bucks each and you’re now $2 MILLION richer!  WOW – that’s just got to be the stuff of fairy tales!

Well that’s exactly what happened to Virginia Fike of Berryville, Virginia. A few weeks ago she stopped off at the Olde Stone Truck Stop on Martinsburg Pike in Clear Brook to buy two tickets for the April 7, Powerball draw – her picks were based on her parent’s anniversary, their ages at that time, divided by the year they were married. She was visiting her mother in hospital, when they saw a scroll on TV about there being two $1 million Powerball winners; so the next day Virginia stopped at the store to pick up The Washington Post for her mother, asked them to check her lottery tickets, and the rest – as they say – is history!

The next Powerball draw is later today and the jackpot currently stands at a very tasty ONE HUNDRED and FIFTY TWO MILLION greenbacks – and your name might just be engraved on the jackpot box, but only if you’ve got a ticket. The place to buy that ticket is right here at WinTrillions where you can play not just Powerball but many other of the world’s biggest and richest lotteries – just choose your game, pick your numbers – then sit back and enjoy the ride.

World Record Mega Millions Jackpot – the Final Chapter

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

To use that old hackneyed phrase, “It ain’t over ‘till the fat lady sings.” Well she’s now sung her song and the final chapter in the long running who’s won, who didn’t win, last month’s world record $656 million Mega Millions jackpot has now been written.

There were three winning Mega Millions tickets sold for the March 30, drawing, but it took a week for the first winner – a regular lotto player who decided to remain anonymous – to come forward in Kansas. This led to much speculation and rumour about the identity of the two remaining shareholders until on April 10, a syndicate of three anonymous public school employees from Maryland – known as the “Three Amigos” stepped forward to claim their share of the prize pot which just left one more winner to collect.

Well at a news conference which took place yesterday in Red Bud, a farming community about 40 miles southeast of St. Louis, a retired southern Illinois couple Merle and Patricia Butler laid claim to the third and final share of the record breaking Mega Millions jackpot.

Under lottery rules multi-million dollar winners must appear at a press conference, to “assure other players that prizes are paid to winners”. However in the State of Illinois anonymity is not an option which why the Butlers came forward publicly; the delay gave them time to meet with financial and legal advisers and to allow them to properly prepare for the cameras.

The lucky couple won their share of the booty after buying their ticket at the Moto Mart in Red Bud; additionally Moto Mart’s owner will also receive $500,000 from the lottery as a bonus for selling the winning ticket. So it looks like party time in Red Bud has arrived!

Well there was no jackpot winner in Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw so the jackpot rollover has now risen to a very handy SIXTY FIVE MILLION dollars. Mind you, there was no jackpot winner in yesterday’s Powerball draw either, which means the next Powerball jackpot has climbed to a very, very, very handy indeed ONE HUNDRED and FIFTY TWO MILLION bucks!

As always, if you want in on the action you’ll need a ticket and the place to buy that is right here’s at WinTrillions the world’s largest lottery website, with more games, more jackpots and more chances to win than anywhere else. Remember with WinTrillions you’ll never lose a ticket, never miss a draw and you’re guaranteed to receive your share of prizes whenever you win!
