$77 million Powerball lottery winner goes AWOL
Thursday, December 22nd, 2011How would you feel if you just found out you had won a $77 million lottery jackpot, but then discovered that you were disqualified from ever claiming your mega prize because you didn’t claim within the 180 day validation deadline?
If you’re the Powerball lottery ticket holder with the numbers 24, 30, 45, 57, 59 and Powerball 26, drawn on June 29, and you bought your ticket at the Pilot Travel Center truck stop Tallapoosa, Atlanta, then get in touch a little bit lively with Georgia Lottery headquarters in downtown Atlanta or one of the seven district lottery offices around the state before the door slams forever at close of business next Monday!
Normally all multimillion-dollar jackpots would need to be claimed at either Georgia Lottery headquarters or at one of their district offices but they will close for Christmas from Friday through to Monday; however you can still claim at the Georgia Lottery kiosks at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, located in the baggage claim areas of the North and South terminals. Those kiosks will be open from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Monday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
As a consolation you might like to know that all unclaimed prize money goes back into the prize pool for future games and for special prize promotions, and is ultimately paid out to players.
Remember you can play many of the biggest and richest lotteries from all around the world right here at WinTrillions, what’s more you don’t ever have to worry about missing out on a prize deadline as we do the checking on your behalf and call you with the results – genius!
