On September 8th, an unknown winner in Pilar de la Horadada in Alicante became the winner of the third largest El Gordo de la Primitiva jackpot ever. The resident in the small town was the single winner and is entitled to the €26.4 million jackpot prize.
The winner came forward later in the month but requested to remain anonymous. Sources report that the winner is an older woman who played the game for the first time, via a ticket given as a gift by a relative.
