Venelles is a small village in southern France near Aix-en-Provence with around 8,000 people. 15 friends from this village won the big jackpot of 100 million Euros, approximately $169 million.

Mr. Jean-Pierre Saez, Mayor of the village, commented:”The winners are people from Venelles, people who get up early in the morning and work hard.” He also said:” I am happy that these are good people.”

Authorities from the National Lottery in France didn’t reveal the names of winners. They said that for security reasons, they want them to remain anonymous.
