Mr. Caswell is 74 years-old and his wife Joan is 72 years-old. The couple from Bernice Street in Halliwell, Bolton, knew about their win when Mr. Caswell went to settle his paper bill at the local newsagents.

Joan said: “It’s a legacy for the children, I can’t comprehend the figure. It is something I would never have imagined.”
