Canadian Lotto Winner Comes Forward for Prize

Moose Jaw, Canada’s Brad Legare won a $17 million jackpot, claiming the prize weeks after the drawing.

The 30 year-old is a roofer by trade, but says he won’t be doing that any longer.

Legare says he discovered he had the winning lottery ticket when he checked the numbers on-line.

With his girlfriend and sister in tow the trio took the winning lotto ticket to a wicket to check it but when they got there, Legare says he was too nervous to actually do it himself, so his girlfriend checked for him.

Friday the 13th Lotto Winner Gets Lucky

The winner of $26 million has no bad luck to speak of on a notoriously unlucky date: Friday the 13th.

Isabel Zelaya, a Long Island man, said he ignored advice from friends that Friday the 13th was an unlucky.

“I wake up my daughter and said…you and me are the new millionaires,” Zelaya said. “I cried with my daughter…it will change my life,” he said.

Madoff’s Prison Number is a Lottery Winner!

Bernie Madoff may have stolen billions but someone ended up making a few million off of him.

Or his prison number, anyway.

Ralph Amendolaro of Queens, NY used the confessed Ponzi schemer’s prison number to play the lottery after reading it in the New York Daily News. A few days later the number actually came up, scoring the man an easy $1,500.
