Church Rejects Donation from Lottery Winner

When an Orange Park, Florida man won it big and took home a $6 million jackpot, he did what all good christians do: he tithed.

Ready with a $600,000 check the following Sunday morning (the biggest check he’s ever written, he admitted), he went off to his local church to tide his 10%. Pastor David Takington at the First Baptist Orange Park Church politely declined, and was unwilling to discuss he reasons with the press.

Most churches disapprove of gambling and Pastor Tarkington is, supposedly, refusing the money because of this. Other pastors in the area are not so picky, though.

Dr. Hall at the El-Beth-El Divine Holiness Church says that $600,000 is welcome at his church, where they do not question where the money comes from. The money could be put to good use to fund projects that will help the church and community, he said, like the youth center that is currently under construction.

$42 Million Winner’s Investment Pays Off

After years of playing $20 in tickets twice a week Chris and Tina Crane’s dedication paid very large dividends!

The couple made it big when they won October 3rd’s $42 Million jackpot.

“We’ll probably take it easy for a while and sit back and kind of soak it in,” Crane said.

Both plan on retiring and pursuing some of their lifelong dreams.

Mr Crane discovered he was a winner when checking his numbers online the afternoon after the drawing. First he noticed the winning ticket was from the same store he shopped at, then when he’s numbers matched the winners, it began to click.

“I thought, no way,” he said. “I looked at them again and it was, like, okay, who’s the practical joker around here.”

He said he awakened Tina, who sleeps afternoons because she works midnights.

“She looked at me with these big, huge bloodshot eyes and it was, ‘Mister, this better not be a joke,’.” he said.

Now the couple will buy property to build a pecan farm in Georgia, start a horse ranch for handicapped children and otherwise just take it easy.

Janitor Cashes $7.4 Million in Lotto Winnings

Kevin Frost, 39, is a dedicated man. He’s been playing the lottery every week since he was 18 and his dedication has finally paid very large dividends!

He was having breakfast in his home when the television news announced the winning numbers. “I was just in awe when my numbers first came up, it was an incredible feeling,” he recalled.

Frost plans on using his massive winnings to pay off his mortgage, buy a new house and travel to Scotland for a lengthly tour of their premier golf courses. He doesn’t think the money is going to change him or his way or living.

“I’m a basic guy, and I’ll still like to go to the lake on the weekend, do a bit of fishing, and play a bit of golf… And friends and family will always be important to me,” Frost said.

The Euromillions Biggest Winner, Ever

On March 31, 2006 the EuroMillions jackpot had rolled over a total of 9 times, bringing the total jackpot to €115 million.

Enter Dolores McNamara, early that morning at a local grocery store where she bought a ticket, just like she did every morning she stopped by for a few things for the kitchen. Later that evening she forgot to check the results, and wouldn’t until two days later.

When she thought to check her ticket after the news reported that the single winner of €115 million had not come forward, her heart nearly stopped: she was the lucky winner.

On the 4th of August she came forward and collected her prize money in Dublin, using it to help raise her 6 children and pay their college tuitions, as well as a few perks like a new house and car!
