Wife Nearly Throws $250,000 Lotto Ticket Away

One lucky couple was very nearly not so lucky at all.

Lottery officials reported that the couple, who’s names are not being released, nearly lost a huge sum of $250,000 in winnings when the wife threw the ticket in the garbage the day after the Friday night Megamillions drawing.

The husband asked to see the ticket, and after fetching it from the top of the trash heap, he realized they had very nearly thrown $250,000 in the garbage!

“I looked at it and thought right away that we’d won something big,” the man told lottery officials.
